Conversations with my Daughter – ‘I Never Promised You a Rose Garden’

Bethany as you get older you will come to realize that life is full of many challenges; some of them can be trying at times. Of the many trials I’ve faced in life, the most difficult I must say is trying to stay afloat when it feels like everything around is attacking me. It is my hope that you never give up and that you hold on to your faith and trust that everything will be ok with you. Bethany, in my life I had to go through many challenges most of them could have been avoided had I been given a better start in life. One thing you will learn as you get older is that the more you know the better off you will be in life. There are some people who sit back and wait for others to help them get to the next stage in life. Though that would be nice, the harsh reality is that you rarely find others that will help you.

My miracle baby Bethany @ 4 months!

My miracle baby, I will do everything in my power to ensure that you are prepared to deal with the various challenges that may come your way. I have opened up a savings account for you, something that I never had for myself. I want you to be financially independent that way you will be able to make good choices with your life. More doors will be open for you once you are financially independent. As you get older I will teach you the importance of saving.

You are my miracle baby and I will do everything to help you grow. I will prepare for you a life filled with happiness and show you how to maintain that happiness on your own. I will show you how to create and maintain your own rose garden, so that no one would ever say to you “I never promised you a rose garden”

The older you get the more you will see how important it is to be self-reliant. My miracle baby you will be ok, and as time goes by I hope these conversations that I am having with you will serve to assist you whenever you need them.
